Ming-Sho Ho - The Origin and Dynamics of the Sunflower Movement and the Umbrella Movement

In this book talk, Ming-sho Ho, a sociology professor in National Taiwan University, will introduce his new book on the Sunflower Movement and the Umbrella Movement. He will share the main findings regarding the genesis, process, and outcomes of the two consequential occupy protests in 2014. These two incidents belong to a rare class of "eventful protests", or unexpected collective actions that changed the course of history. The talk will conclude with how the unsettled legacy continue to shape the ongoing campaign in Hong Kong.

Ming-sho Ho is a sociology professor in National Taiwan University. He researches social movements, labor and the environmental issues.
